Facebook Report

The social media tool that I have chosen is Facebook Because of its reliability and overwhelming activity and users on the site, #1 in the world.
Comparison
The overall scope of Facebook compared to twitter is astronomical in terms of active and daily users proving that Facebook has the larger user base
Facebook Statistics
  • 968 million daily active users
  • 844 million mobile daily active users
Twitter Statistics
  • 316 million monthly users
  • 80% of active users on mobile

Tools
Facebook had a large number of tools at its disposal for its users to use, such as…
-          Instant messaging: a fast way to communicate with friends though text, video or voice recordings.
-          Status posting: you can use the status feature of Facebook to post anything you want. Whether it be video, text, voice or photos
-          Friends: Facebook is primarily a social networking site and nothing is more social then keeping in touch with your friends, and seeing what they post and update is a hallmark for Facebook.
Facebook VS Twitter: Tools
-          Character Limit: Twitters has a 140 character limit as opposed to Facebooks 63,206 characters. Facebook offers a much more flexible character limit to get though large amounts of information rather than twitter where you are forced to make separate posts if you exceed the character limit.
-          Just like the character limit twitter has very limited spaces compared to Facebook in terms of photos and videos as well. Twitter has a limit of 4 photos per post, but Facebook you can have a limit of 1000 photos per album. For video twitter has a limit of 2 minutes and 20 secs, but Facebook has a limit of 45 minutes.
Privacy and security issues.
• Your information is being shared with third parties
• Facebook ads may contain malware
• Scammers are creating fake profiles

All three are very real issues Plaguing Facebook that users need to worry about, knowingly or not. People need to be aware and cautious about what they share online because the way Facebook is currently set up has very little in terms of failsafe to protect you against 3rd party sites accessing your information.
In addition users must also be aware of what they are clicking on, for some advertisements when accessed contain harmful malware that can damage your computer if allowed.

Users are also facing the threat of malicious people creating fake accounts usually pretending to be one of your friends in order to gather sensitive information about you or try and trick you into sending them money off of you.
